It's an odd feeling not being able to breathe.

Something so effortless.

Something many take for granted.

Until...you can't.

And then...

It becomes the only thing you can think about.

You NEED that next breath.

NOW.

Or you at LEAST need to know it is coming soon.

When you can't breathe and you don't know when you will be able to?

That is pure panic. Good luck thinking of something else.

So when I looked up and there was still about 15 meters of water above me...

Yeah. I panicked. I was scared.

15 meters might not have been a big deal, but...I had spent my last bit of calm, cool and collected mode trying to communicate.

Non verbal, of course. But it was NOT happening.

So the only way...was up.

It felt like my lungs were going to burst, but that huge gasp that filled them when I broke through the surface...was sweet. .
